The Houston Texans played the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and won 27 to 24. However, the game was nothing but bittersweet as Houston lost one of its star players for the rest of the year. J.J. Watt, 30, injured himself on a routine tackle in the second quarter. It was later confirmed by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport who stated the Houston Texans feared Watt had suffered a tear to his pectoral muscle.
He wouldn’t return to the game and finished with three tackles. After the game, Texans quarterback, Deshaun Watson commented on Watt’s injury by saying, “It’s tough,” Watson told reporters after the game. “That’s a big part of this team. But he knows that this locker room, this team, this town, and this city, Houston nation, is going to support him through his recovery. We always love him. He’s going to be right there with us supporting and helping us out.”
Watt also chimed in on his injury by saying, ”This game can be beautiful and it can also be brutal. Absolutely gutted that I won’t be able to finish the season with my guys and give the fans what they deserve. I truly love this game and can’t stand letting you guys down. Thank you for all of the thoughts & well-wishes.”
The Texans next game is against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The game starts at 9:30 AM on Sunday November 3rd.
