Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors
Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Jillian Hasner, Erin Knight and Nelson Telemaco to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors.
Jillian Hasner – Hasner, of Boca Raton, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Take Stock in Children. She has been involved with the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Leadership Florida, United States Global Leadership Coalition and the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for the Southern District. Hasner earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Nyack College.
Erin Knight – Knight, of Coral Gables, is President of Monument Capital Management. Previously, she was Miami Market President for Stonegate Bank and a Senior Vice President with Regions Bank. Knight has volunteered her time with the Junior League of Miami, March of Dimes, The Miami Foundation and the Baptist Health Foundation. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University.
Nelson Telemaco – Telemaco, of Coral Springs, is Chief Executive Officer of Proximity Works. Previously, he was Senior Vice President at Sompo International, Principal at Allianz Risk Transfer and Vice President at American International Group. Telemaco earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Charlette Roman, Cheryl Meads and Ben Butler to the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Charlette Roman – Roman, of Marco Island, served 26 years in the United States Army, earning an honorable discharge at the rank of Colonel before going to work for Northrop Grumman. She has served on the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board since 2019 and has also volunteered with the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Friends of Tigertail Beach, Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Collier Citizens Council. Roman earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Loyola University and her master’s degree in business management from Webster University. Cheryl Meads – Meads, of Tavernier, is the Chief Executive Officer of Trumpet Calls. She has served on the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board since 2019, was a member of the Islamorada Village Council and previously did research and development as a contractor for the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Meads earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in English from Western Carolina University. Ben Butler – Butler, of Lorida, is the Owner and Manager of Butler Oaks Farm, a family-run dairy farm. He previously served on the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board and has also volunteered his time with the United Dairy Farmers of Florida, Okeechobee Farm Bureau, Okeechobee Youth Livestock Show, 4-H and the Okeechobee Area Agricultural Council. Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board
Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of William Hogarth, Paul “Jack” Bispham and Johnnie Hall to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board.
William Hogarth – Hogarth, of Treasure Island, is the former Director of the Florida Institute of Oceanography at the University of South Florida. Previously, he served as Dean of the University of South Florida’s College of Marine Science and as the Assistant Administrator for the National Marine Fisheries Services at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Hogarth earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology from the University of Richmond and his doctorate degree in marine fisheries from North Carolina State University.
Paul “Jack” Bispham – Bispham, of Myakka City, is the Owner and Operator of Red Bluff Plantation and Paul’s Parrish. Previously he was the Owner and Operator of Bayside Sod. Bispham has served on the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board since 2019 and previously served on the Manasota Basin Board. He has also served on the Sarasota Planning Commission and is a member of the Sarasota Sportsmen’s Association and The Argus Foundation. Bispham earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Florida.
Johnnie Hall – Hall, of Auburndale, is a Cattle Rancher and the owner of Polk Community Association Management. Previously, he served two terms on the Polk County Board of County Commissioners. Hall is a member of the Polk County Cattleman’s Association and a Registered Environmental Manager with the National Registry of Environmental Professionals. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Leo University. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Two to the St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board
Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Douglas Burnett and Ryan Atwood to the St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board.
Douglas Burnett – Burnett, of St. Augustine, is the current Chairman of the St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board and a retired Major General with the United States Air Force and Florida Air National Guard, previously serving as The Adjutant General of Florida. He is a member of the University of North Florida Board of Trustees and previously served on the Florida State College at Jacksonville District Board of Trustees. Burnett earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Ryan Atwood – Atwood, of Mount Dora is a farmer at Atwood Family Farms and owner of H&A Farms. He has been a member of the Florida Blueberry Growers Association, Lake County Farm Bureau and the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association. Atwood earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s degree in forest genetics from the University of Florida. Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Jerome “Jerry” Pate, Anna Upton and John Alter to the Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board.
Jerome “Jerry” Pate – Pate, of Pensacola, is the owner of Jerry Pate Turf and Irrigation and Jerry Pate Design. He is a former professional golfer with 15 professional wins including the 1976 U.S. Open and the 1982 Players Championship. He was also a member of the winning 1981 United States Ryder Cup Team. Pate currently serves as Vice Chair of the Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board and on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Foundation Board of Directors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in administrative science from the University of Alabama.
Anna Upton – Upton, of Tallahassee, is a Managing Member of Anna H. Upton, P.L. and serves as General Counsel to The Everglades Foundation. She has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in the areas of business litigation, civil litigation defense, employment and labor law and environmental litigation. A recipient of the Girl Scout Gold Award, she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Wake Forest University and her juris doctor from Stetson University College of Law.
John Alter – Alter, of Malone, manages a family-run tree farm and is a retired Naval Aviator, earning an honorable discharge from the United States Navy at the rank of Captain. He has previously served on the Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board and is also a member of the Florida Forestry Association, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and the Optimist Club of Northeast Jackson County. Alter earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and his master’s degree in political science from Villanova University. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Two to the Suwannee River Water Management District Governing Board
Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of George Cole and William Lloyd to the Suwannee River Water Management District Governing Board.
George Cole – Cole, of Monticello, is a former Adjunct Professor at Florida State University and retired United States Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander. Previously, he was an engineer with the Florida Department of Transportation and Chief of the Florida Department of Natural Resources’ Bureau of Surveying and Mapping. Cole previously served on the Suwannee River Water Management District Governing Board and is a member of the Aucilla Research Institute Board of Directors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Tulane University and his master’s degree and PhD in geography from Florida State University.
William Lloyd – Lloyd, of High Springs, is Vice President of Suwannee Valley Feeds. Previously, he was a manager with Suwannee Valley Feeds and a Dairy Specialist with ADM Alliance Nutrition. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Deborah Denys, Gregory Jones, Frank Mingo and Joseph Durso to the Florida Communities Trust Governing Board.
Deborah Denys – Denys, of New Smyrna Beach, is a former member of the Volusia County Council. Previously, she served as Chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties and as a Volusia County School Board member. Denys has volunteered her time with the Indian River Lagoon Council, River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization and the Central Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix.
Gregory Jones – Jones, of Tampa, is the Tampa Division Manager for ICI Homes. Previously, he was a Senior Project Manager for WCI Communities. Jones has volunteered his time on the Escambia County Tourism Development Council and West End Advisory Board.
Frank Mingo – Mingo, of Miami Lakes, is a real estate broker at All Out Realty. Previously, he was an executive with the Oliva Cigar Company and Vice Mayor of the Town of Miami Lakes where he served on the Economic Development Committee.
Joseph Durso – Durso, of Longwood, is Vice President of Public Affairs for Embrace Families. He is a former Commissioner for the City of Longwood. Durso has also served as a member of Leadership Florida and on the Orlando Economic Partnership’s Central Florida Water Initiative. He earned bachelor’s degrees in social science and political science from Florida State University, a master of professional studies from George Washington University and a master of public administration from Harvard University. Matthew Bruno – Bruno, of Miami, is Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Lending at Amerant Bank. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe Board of Directors and was Chair of the Board of the Centro Mater Foundation. Bruno earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and a graduate certificate in accounting and auditing from Florida International University.
Chereen Coile – Coile, of Miami, is the Assistant Head of School and Director of Operations at True North Classical Academy. Previously, she was an Assistant Principal at Academir Preparatory Academy. Coile earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Florida International University.
