CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of Miami women’s golf team finished tied for 13th at the Tar Heel Invitational this weekend, posting a team total of 62-over par (926). Competing in a strong field that featured several nationally ranked programs, the Hurricanes recorded rounds of 312 (+24), 305 (+17), and 309 (+21) spanning across three days of play.
Ashleen Kaur led the way for Miami in a steady performance with rounds of 76, 75, and 75 to finish at 11-over par (226),placing her in a tie for 35th individually. Next up for the Hurricanes was Stella Jelinek at No. 49 with a final score of +15 (225)
Cloe Amion Villarino followed, finishing at 17-over (233)with rounds of 81, 75, and 77. Not far behind was Rebekah Gardner for a three-round total of 20-over (230), and closingout for the Hurricanes was Katie Carman ending the event at 50-over (260).
The Hurricanes tied for 13th with Florida International in the 16-team field. Auburn claimed the team title with an impressive 5-under par showing, while Duke (+10), NC State (+11), VirginiaTech (+20), and South Carolina (+22)rounded out the top five.
