| 8/14/2024 | Academics BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic Athletics has named its Prestige Windows & Doors Student-Athletes of the Month for July, with men’s basketball’s Tre Carroll and volleyball’s Noelle Stephens receiving the first honors for the 2024-25 academic year. The monthly honors are presented to a male and female Florida Atlantic student-athlete to recognize their excellence in the classroom. FAU’s athletic academic staff votes on the award. Carroll has proven to be a hardworking and loyal men’s basketball team member. The redshirt junior from Punta Gorda, Fla., consistently demonstrates dedication to his studies, excelling in a heavy course load during the summer. His work ethic and positive outlook are an inspiration to his peers. The forward averaged 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds last year, playing in 24 games for the Owls.  Stephens excelled in the four classes she took this summer and proved worthy of the acknowledgment. The senior setter from Winter Park, Fla., finished second on the team last year with 217 assists and 3.5 assists per game. She was named to the Owls Paradise Classic All-Tournament Team.
