Gators and Rebels Face Off at the SEC Preview Meet
The Gators travel to Oxford to face Ole Miss and get their first test on the 2022 SEC Championship Course
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators men’s and women’s cross country teams are back in action at the SEC Preview Meet in Oxford, Mississippi on Friday September 16.
The women will compete in the 6k starting at 8:00 a.m. and the men will begin their 8k run starting at 8:45 a.m.
This meet will serve as a preview to the 2022 SEC Championships which take place on October 28, giving runners a chance to compete on the actual course that will be used for the Championships. Florida and Ole Miss will be the only teams competing at this preview meet.
In the first meet of this season for the women, Emily Culley, Olivia Jones, Kathryn Nohilly, Rylee Pustilnik and Emma Solis all placed in the top 20, guiding the Gators to first place at the UCF Invite. Emily Culley came in first overall while the other four recorded a career best 5k time.
On the men’s side, Josh Stern placed second followed by Adam Magoulas, Aiden Villasuso, Cavan Wilson, Jonathan Pitchford, Orlando Cicilioni and Eoin McNally, who all placed in the top 12. All seven men’s runners who competed at UCF ran a career best 5k time.
