The Jaguars host the Houston Texans in Jacksonville on Sunday in an AFC South matchup. Jacksonville is entering the game 1-1 and Houston is entering the game 0-2 in the season. The last matchup between the two teams resulted in a 31-3 Jaguars victory on Jan. 1, 2023. The Jaguars are looking to earn their first win at home against the Texans since 2017.
STAY COOL AND SAFE
The safety of our fans, players, coaches and staff are of the highest priority to the Jaguars. Understanding that fall in Florida can present dangerous heat-related temperatures for guests to EverBank Stadium, the Jaguars encourage ticket holders to remember:
- One, commercially branded, factory-sealed, plastic, 16.9 oz. or less size bottle of water per ticket holder is permitted. Refillable bottled water stations can be found at all water fountains throughout the stadium.
- Complimentary cups and ice are also available at all guest services booths to use at stadium water fountains.
- JTA cooling buses are available at Ramps 1 and 4 with nearby water coolers for relief.
- The South End Zone and Daily’s Place provide shaded space with concessions and seating. Fans resting in Daily’s Place can also follow the game in real time on the big screen.
- Should assistance be needed, guests should alert the nearest Guest Services Team member or visit a Guest Services booth situated in the following locations:
o Main Concourse: north end zone at Section 123
o Main Concourse: southeast corner at Section 144
o Main Concourse: southwest corner at Section 102
o Upper Concourse: west upper deck at Section 410
o Upper Concourse: east upper deck at Section 436
- Gallagher Club East & West: On the ground level and immediately outside the elevator on the upper and lower levels.
NOTABLE
- Construction and gameday street closures around the sports complex can impact traffic patterns. Fans are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and arrive early as parking lots open four hours prior to kickoff. New this year, mobile parking passes should be downloaded and saved prior to arrival to be easily scanned upon entry to assigned parking lots. Specific directions to each parking lot and additional parking information can be found here.
- Fans are invited to experience the new Miller Electric Center Pro Shop on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and opens at 9 a.m. on game day. Fans can expect the store to be open on Thursdays and Fridays before home games from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SOMOS DUUUVAL
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, more than 300 tickets were distributed for Sunday’s game to Hispanic community leaders, nonprofits, youth and families. A ‘Somos DUUUVAL’ – Hispanic Heritage T-shirt will be available for purchase at the Miller Electric Center, Store 4 and West Club Pro Shops, and a DUUUVAL Designs – Hispanic Heritage poster will be available in the Fan Entertainment Zone, located in the South End Zone and Flex Field, while supplies last.
GAME DAY PATRIOTISM
“The Star-Spangled Banner” will be performed by Marvin Zapf, a 36-year-old U.S. Army veteran.
Kayla Debrow will interpret “The Star-Spangled Banner” for the hearing impaired. She is a junior at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. Debrow is a member of the school’s volleyball, basketball and flag football teams and has participated in the Southeast Club Basketball League since she was five.
The colors for the game will be presented by members of the Official Color Guard of the Marine Corps Support Facility Blount Island Command in Jacksonville.
The flyover will be performed by the Training Squadron TEN out of Naval Air Station Pensacola, which is a U.S. Navy training squadron based out of Naval Air Station Pensacola. The VT-10 provides the sole primary training for U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and International Student Naval Flight Officers (SNFOs) on the T-6A for integration into numerous fleet platforms.
Staff Sgt. Kenney Torres will be honored as the Bell Ringer for Sunday’s game. Torres joined the U.S. Army in 2006 and has completed three combat tours, one in Iraq as a medical lab technician, and two in Afghanistan as an aviation mechanic and door gunner. Torres is currently a drill sergeant in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and finishing his last three years in Fort Drum, New York. He is proud to have represented the Jaguars by flying the team’s flag from the window of a Black Hawk helicopter during his tour in Afghanistan.
Cmdr. Bob Willen will be honored as the Veteran of the Game.Willen enlisted in the U.S. Navy from his hometown of Pittsburgh in October 1973. He was promoted through the ranks to chief petty officer prior to being commissioned a naval officer. Willen is a Vietnam, Gulf War and Global War on Terror Veteran. He was the Carrier Air Wing One (CVW-1) maintenance officer on USS Theodore Roosevelt and deployed on a combat deployment six days after 9/11. Willen served on active duty for 32 years, deploying 12 times on seven different aircraft carriers. This month marks Willen’s 50 years of service to the U.S. Navy, serving as a Department of Defense contractor for the past 18 years supporting Naval Aviation. Willen and his bride of 44 years, Sandy, reside in Fleming Island.
FIRST DUUUVAL
The First DUUUVAL will be delivered by Paul Martinez, the president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida. During his eight-year tenure in the role, Paul has significantly grown the organization from 12 Boys & Girls Club locations in two counties to 56 Clubs across four counties, plus McKenzie’s Camp Deep Pond. Paul is also a co-founder of Mission Clubs Boys & Girls Club serving kids in Caisan, Panama, and a co-founder of The Sausage Dudes, which donates portions of its product sales to support youth nonprofits.
HALFTIME ENTERTAINMENT
The halftime show will be performed by the Venezuela Marka Foundation Dancers, who have a mission of creating a stimulating community space that fosters a sense of belonging and cultural identity. Beyond dance and traditions, they aim to be a bridge for Venezuelan immigrants and encourage them to engage and embrace their roots.
FAN REMINDERS
- Be Clear on Game Day – The NFL’s clear bag policy is in effect at EverBank Stadium. Fans are encouraged to leave all bags at home, but, if one is necessary, it should be either a clear bag no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” or a non-clear bag no larger than 4.5” x 6.5.” Non-clear belt bags and fanny packs are prohibited.
- Mobile Ticketing and Parking – Fans should have their mobile tickets and parking downloaded and ready to scan prior to arriving at parking lots and stadium entry gates. To access, download the Official Jaguars Mobile App.
- Stay Cool – Guests are permitted to bring one, commercially branded, factory-sealed, plastic, 16.9 oz. or less size bottle of water. JTA cooling buses will be available at Ramps 1 and 4 with water coolers nearby.
- Cashless Transactions – Cash is no longer accepted anywhere in the stadium. In addition to traditional scan and chip options, all fixed points of sale will offer tap or scan payment options including Apple, Google and Samsung Pay.
- Arrive Early – Guests arriving to the stadium complex after 10 a.m. should expect moderate to heavy traffic delays.
- EverBank Stadium is a smoke-free facility. All tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) are prohibited. No guest re-entry will be permitted.
