August 28, 2019
Fans are invited to TIAA Bank Field on Thursday evening to see the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Atlanta Falcons in the team’s final game of the 2019 preseason. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast locally on television on WFOX-30 and on radio on WJXL (1010AM, 92.5 FM) and 99.9 FM Gator Country.
JAGUARS ALL-25 FEATURED PLAYER
In celebration of the team’s 25th season, the team previously unveiled the Jaguars All-25 presented by Sharpie, a collection of the top 25 non-active players in franchise history, as voted on by members of the local media. A member of the Jaguars All-25 will be featured at each home game, continuing this Thursday with former CB Rashean Mathis, who was named No. 8. Mathis was selected in the second round (39th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Jaguars. He spent the next 10 seasons in Jacksonville, anchoring the team’s secondary. His 30 career INTs, 512 career INT return yards and 35 total career takeaways (30 INTs, five fumble recoveries) are all franchise records. Mathis will serve as an honorary captain for the game, appear on the preseason TV broadcast, conduct an interview in-stadium just before halftime and sign autographs for fans from 5:30 – 6 p.m. in the Lycamobile Fan Entertainment Zone presented by PRI Productions.
THROWBACK THURSDAY – 90s NIGHT
On Thursday night, the team is harking back to the first decade of Jaguars football when the team took the field in 1995 for its inaugural season and inviting fans to join in a tribute to the 90s. Members of the Quad City Family (95 South, 69 Boyz and the Quad City DJ’s) will perform a mashup of some of their biggest hits at halftime atop the Dick’s Wings Rally Zone in the north end zone. The performance is open to all ticketed fans. The First DUUUVAL of the game will be delivered by Quad City Family member Jay McGowan, who co-wrote and co-produced each of these hits, which resulted in more than 25 million album sales and multiple Grammy nominations. The First DUUUVAL is presented by Duval Motor Company.
The Jaguars have also created one-of-a-kind 90s fan packs, available for sale only at TIAA Bank Field on game night on the main concourse and plaza level Jags Pro Shops. The throwback fan packs, available while supplies last, include a retro 25th season T-shirt featuring Jaguars logos past and present, a 25th season fanny pack approved for stadium entry all season long, a Jaguars scrunchie and a 25th season slap bracelet. Fans can secure one in advance by visiting www.jaguars.com/90snight and purchasing a ticket to the game.
SECURE DIGITAL TICKETING
In conjunction with Ticketmaster, the Jaguars will utilize secure digital ticketing this season. Fans will continue to utilize the Official Jacksonville Jaguars app to access their mobile tickets on game day. This year, they will now notice that each ticket has a moving barcode. This dynamic barcode updates every 15 seconds, eliminating the ability to use a screenshot as entry to TIAA Bank Field, and further preventing counterfeit tickets. Fans can still conveniently transfer tickets to friends or family via email or text using their mobile device.
Fans are encouraged to download or update the free Official Jacksonville Jaguars app on both Apple and Android devices. The Jaguars have also developed a detailed secure digital ticket guide to aid fans in accessing, transferring or selling their tickets for the upcoming season. Fans can access this tutorial and view answers to a list of frequently asked questions at www.jaguars.com/mobiletickets.
PREGAME PATRIOTISM
Following team introductions, this week’s national anthem will be performed by Vianna Rose, a singer/songwriter/musician hailing from Wall Township, N.J. Students from the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind will interpret for the hearing impaired. The colors will be presented by a color guard from Holmes County High School (Bonifay, Fla.) JROTC. The field flag will be held by Jaguars season ticket members.
MILITARY HONOREES
During the game, the Jaguars will honor retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Brian Joiner as the Veteran of the Game presented by Dr. Patrick Basile. Joiner served 11 years with the Army airborne infantry, including deployment to Afghanistan with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in the Korengal Valley. He received an Army Commendation Medal of Valor for engaging in enemy fire, which allowed his fellow soldiers to get to safety while in Afghanistan.
The First Data Veteran-Owned Business of the Game is Premier Outdoor Inc., which is represented by its president and CEO Brandon Shindler, who is a U.S. Army veteran and current firefighter with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department. As the game enters the fourth quarter, the Navy Mutual Bell Ringer will be Hospitalman Luzelia Howard. She served a seven-month deployment aboard the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier where she earned three warfare devices. She is currently assigned to Naval Branch Health Clinic Mayport where she manages all administrative duties for 175 staff members.
BE PREPARED ON GAME DAY
Tickets to 2019 Jaguars games are completely mobile via the Official Jacksonville Jaguars app. Attendees should access their tickets before arriving at TIAA Bank Field and save them to a mobile device for easy access. Game tickets should be pulled up with original barcodes, not screenshots, ready as fans approach the stadium on game day to expedite entrance into the stadium.
The NFL’s clear bag policy is in effect at TIAA Bank Field. Fans are encouraged to leave all bags at home, but, if necessary, it should be either a clear bag no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”, or a non-clear bag no larger than 4.5” x 6.5.” Strict size enforcement will be in place for all non-clear bags. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and plan accordingly for traffic. Fans should plan to be inside stadium gates at least one hour prior to kickoff.
