GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Four Gators – Alyssa Baumann, Rachel Gowey, Savannah Schoenherr and Trinity Thomas – are among the 2020 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) regular-season All-America list. This is the eighth year the WCGA recognizes regular-season All-Americans.

The top eight gymnasts on each event and the all-around receive first-team honors and gymnasts Nos. 9-16 receive second-team honors with all ties included.
Four Gators claimed nine WCGA All-America honors – the nation’s No. 2 number of total 2020 honors for a program.
Gator 2020 All-Americans
Nine WCGA All-America honors went to the Gators. Thomas is one of three in the nation to collect the maximum five All-America honors – all-around, vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. She is the second Gator to earn five regular-season All-America honors, joining Gator Great Bridget Sloan in 2016 and 2014.
Baumann appears on the balance beam and floor exercise lists, bringing her career total of regular-season All-America honors to four.
Gowey earns her second regular-season All-America for balance beam (2018, 2020). Schoenherr collects her first regular-season All-America honors for uneven bars.

Second Team: Balance Beam
* Won 10th balance beam title of Gator career with a near perfect 9.975 at Georgia. Also matched collegiate beam best of 9.975 versus LSU
* Raised collegiate floor best to 9.975 to share title with teammate Trinity Thomas versus Denver and Iowa State
* Used a 9.975 to take Alabama dual floor win
* Seven consecutive beam marks of 9.90 or above
* Seven floor marks of 9.90 or better, with six scoring 9.925 or higher
Rachel Gowey – Senior
2020 All-America honors:
First Team: Balance Beam
* 10.0 balance beam routine won title at Penn State. Fifth gymnast in Florida gymnastics’ 48-season history to earn a perfect beam mark
* Performance at March 7 Penn State claimed Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week honor
* Equaled or set beam best three times in 2020 – equaled then best of 9.95 versus Arkansas, upped to near-perfect 9.975 versus LSU and scored perfect 10.0 at PSU
* Eight 2020 beam routines scored 9.90 or better
Savannah Schoenherr – Sophomore
2020 All-America honors:
Second Team: Uneven Bars
* Nearly perfect uneven bars mark of 9.975 shared second versus LSU
* Won first collegiate uneven bars title with 9.95 versus Denver & Iowa State.
* Shared bars win at Penn State (9.95)
* Placed among the top three bar performers in eight 2020 meets
* Five 2020 bars routines scored 9.90 or better – with three 9.95 or better
Trinity Thomas – Sophomore
2020 All-America honors:
First Team: All-Around, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, Floor Exercise
Second Team: Vault
* One of three collegiate gymnasts with maximum five All-America honors in 2020 WCGA regular-season awards.
* Joins Gator Great Bridget Sloan (2014, 2016) as UF’s second to earn five regular-season honors in a single season
* Only 2020 gymnast with a 10.0 in three different events
* 14th Gator to earn a 10.0 with winning mark in LSU dual uneven bars competition
* 10.0 on balance beam versus Denver & Iowa State. Beam 10.0 again in next meet at Auburn
* 10.0 won floor exercise at Penn State.
* Set collegiate all-around best (39.825) to win title at Georgia. Nation’s third-highest total of 2020 and equals Florida record
* All-arounder in every meet, with six totals among the nation’s top 20 – including four in top 10 (No. T3 39.825; No. T7 39.775 3x)
* Led Gators with 28 event wins in 2020 – eight all-around, floor, six bars, five beam, one vault
