BIRMINGHAM – UAB’s Joseph Buete, Cale Loughrey and Grayson Dupont was named to the Conference USA Men’s Soccer Third Team, the conference announced Tuesday. Shane De Leon was named to the Conference-USA All-Freshman Team. This marks the first All-Conference USA postseason award for these student athletes.
Buete was tied for the UAB’s team lead in both goals and points. He tallied nine shots with three on goal and recorded his first career brace against Central Arkansas including the game-winning goal in overtime.
Loughrey was tied for second on the team in goals and second in points and shots. He also tallied one assist on the season that led to the game-winning goal against then ranked No. 18 Kentucky.
Dupont led the team in shots with 13 and is also tied for second on the team in goals.
De Leon was tied for third on the team in shots including three against NC State. He started six of eight game as a freshman.
