Fort Lauderdale begins transformation of two intersections in Flagler Village

Mayor Dean Trantalis and Commissioner Steven Glassman will help MASS District commemorate the beginning of the transformation of two intersections in Flagler Village. Located along the Flagler Greenway, the intersections of Flagler Drive at NE 2nd Avenue and NE 4th Avenue will be raised, improved, and painted with murals by artist Daniel Marosi to uniquely represent the connection between art, movement, and health. This effort is funded through Unilever’s Degree® deodorant and Blue Zones, LLC®, Made to Move™ grant, a competitive national program that is dedicating half a million dollars in funding to five cities across the country for projects that encourage healthy, active lifestyles. Out of nearly 50 cities that applied for this funding, Fort Lauderdale is the only grant recipient in the state of Florida. Construction is set to start immediately and the project should be ready to unveil this summer.
