Florida’s Trinity Thomas among NCAA Today’s Top 10 Award Recipients
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – It’s one more 10 for Gator gymnast Trinity Thomas.
Thomas is among the 2024 NCAA Today’s Top 10 Award honorees. The award recognizes student-athletes for their successes on the field, in the classroom and in the community. Recipients completed their athletics eligibility during the 2022-23 academic year and will be recognized at the NCAA Convention Welcome and Awards Presentation on Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Phoenix, Ariz.
The honorees are selected by the NCAA Honors Committee, composed of representatives of NCAA member schools, conferences and distinguished citizens, including past awardees.
“I am truly honored to be among this year’s NCAA Today’s Top 10. It is humbling to be mentioned among this class as they all are amazing people,” Thomas said. “My time as a Gator was incredibly rewarding and I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way. Thank you Gator Nation for your support during these amazing five years and the NCAA for this honor.”

Success in Sport:
* 2022 and 2023 Honda Award recipient for gymnastics; Top 3 Finalist for 2022 Honda Cup
* Shares NCAA career record with 28 10.0s
* Three-time NCAA champion (2022 all-around, uneven bars, floor exercise)Became the 12th in NCAA history to record a ‘GymSlam’ – a 10.0 in each apparatus. Only gymnast in NCAA history with at least five 10.0 on each apparatus for five career Gym Slams
* 34-time All-American (11 NCAA / 23 WCGA Regular Season) and four-time All-SEC
* Shares every Florida event record, including sole possession of all-around (39.90). Shares NCAA Championships’ semifinal all-around record (39.8125) and shares NCAA vault (final) and floor exercise (semifinal and final) record (10.0)
* 2023 Southeastern Conference Female Athlete of the Year; 2020, 2022 and 2023 SEC Gymnast of the Year
* Seven-time SEC champion (2019 vault; 2022 all-around, vault , floor exercise; 2023 all-around, uneven bars; floor exercise)
Success in Academics:
* Graduated cum laude in April of 2022 in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology- Fitness Wellness
* Graduated in May of 2023 with master’s in Health Education & Behavior
* Currently pursuing a master’s in Entrepreneurship
* Five-time WCGA Scholastic Academic All-American
* Five-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient
Community Service:
* As a member of the Gator gymnastics team, Thomas participated in more than 30 Goodwill Gator activities.
