GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida newcomer Anya Pilgrim’s impressive collegiate debut earned the Southeastern Conference Freshman Gymnast of the Week honor.
Pilgrim is the sixth Gator to earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors after the Gators’ opening meet (2011: Alaina Johnson; 2013: Bridget Sloan; 2018: Jazmyn Foberg; 2019: Trinity Thomas; 2023: Kayla DiCello).
Anya Pilgrim – SEC Freshman of the Week:
Started Gator career with all-around win in 2024 opener.
* Total of 39.525 is highest ever for a freshman Gator in season opener

Won at least a share for three apparatus titles
* Tied teammate Leanne Wong for vault win (9.875)
* Won uneven bars at 9.875
* Shared floor exercise win with teammate Victoria Nguyen (9.925)
Competed at both 2023 FIG World Championships and Pan Am Games (representing Barbados)
