Florida Volleyball Rises to No. 10 in AVCA/TARAFLEX Rankings

The Gators rank top-10 Nationally after being No. 11 in preseason ranking.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After returning south to the Sunshine State with three wins under their belt, the Florida volleyball team moves to No. 10 in AVCA/TARAFLEX Division I WVB Poll.
The Gators collected wins against RV Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Michigan State in the first weekend of action. Florida is currently hitting a .317 attacking percentage, to average 13.36 kills per set. Additionally, the Gators are averaging 12.27 assists, 10.27 digs, 2.45 blocks and 2.18 aces per set.

Fresh-Florida faces – Isabel Martin, Alec Rothe, Jaela Auguste and Taylor Parks – along with returning Gators – Trinity Adams, Emily Canaan, AC Fitzpatrick, Emerson Hoyle, Elli McKissock and Amaya Thomas – rallied through the hardship of a new rotation following All-American’s Kennedy Martin’s sudden exit from weekend play. The sophomore went down on her ankle in the fourth set against Colorado State on Friday, Aug. 30th and didn’t return for the remainder of the weekend – with her return to be determined.

Florida received 870 points to rank No.11 in AVCA’s Preseason Division I WVB Poll on Aug. 19.
