GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida saw 84 student-athletes named today to the 2019-20 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll by league commissioner Greg Sankey. Grades from the 2019-20 academic year determine the 2020 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
Today’s announcement brings Florida’s total of student-athletes named to a 2019-20 SEC Academic Honor Roll to a program-record 339. Florida placed 255 on SEC Academic Honor Rolls (80 on fall list; 62 winter, 113 on spring) and 84 on the First-Year Honor Roll.
2020 SEC Freshman Indoor Runner of the Year Grace Stark earned a berth on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. Stark is one of nine Gators who earned both SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll status and 2020 All-America accolades.

Two Gator teams – women’s golf and gymnastics – saw every team member who was at UF for the entire 2019-20 academic year earn SEC Academic or SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll accolades.
To be recognized to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
