SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers Foundation announced today they partnered with South Florida Ford for a $5,000 donation to the Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health.

“We wanted to use this time to bring the community together and we definitely achieved that here,” said David Menten, Chairman of the South Florida FORD Dealers Association and President of Sawgrass Ford. “We know most of our customers have been staying at home during the pandemic and loved the opportunity to enjoy their Ford vehicle by Getting In and Giving Back.”

Through South Florida Ford’s ‘Get In & Give Back’ social media campaign, fans were encouraged to wear Panthers gear and post photos in their Ford vehicles using hashtag #FordGetIn. An additional donation was given for each hashtag use with the funds going towards healthcare workers at the children’s hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re proud to announce a joint donation with our long-term partner South Florida Ford to Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital,” said Senior Vice President Shawn Thornton. “We have an obligation to the South Florida Community in times of need in big ways and small and to raise awareness for the heroes doing good work during these difficult times.”

The Florida Panthers Foundation supports four main pillars: children’s health & education, growing youth hockey, veterans’ affairs and raising awareness for the endangered Florida panther.
