SUNRISE, Fla. – The National Hockey League today announced the 32 team nominees for the 2021-22 King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is presented “to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.” Panthers Captain Aleksander Barkov has been selected as Florida’s nominee for the annual award.

After tallying a career-high 39 goals and 49 assists during the 2021-22 regular season, Barkov’s contribution totaled $101,600. He had previously donated more than $105,000 over the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Barkov also provides a suite at FLA Live Arena for each Panthers home game for use by those connected to the pediatric facility.
