SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that forward Patrick Giles has agreed to terms on a two-year, entry-level contract.
“Patrick is a physical and talented player and we are looking forward to his development within our Panthers organization,” said Zito.
Giles, 22, skated in 10 regular season American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Charlotte Checkers in 2021-22, notching one assist. He produced two assists (0-2-2) over seven AHL postseason games with the Checkers.
The 6-foot-5, 212-pound native of Chevy Chase, Md., also appeared in 37 NCAA games with Boston College in 2021-22, ranking third on the Eagles with 15 goals (15-7-22). Over four seasons (2018-19 to 2021-22) with B.C. he amassed 45 points (22-23-45) over 108 total games. Giles helped lead the Eagles to Hockey East regular season championships in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
On the international stage, Giles earned a Silver Medal representing the United States at the IIHF 2018 U18 World Junior Championship, where he posted two points (1-1-2) over seven tournament games. He also produced three points (1-2-3) over five games with the U.S. at the 2017 U17 World Hockey Challenge.
