SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Kevin Stenlund on a one-year, one-way contract.
“Stenlund is a really unique guy, whose combination of size, skating and skill is rare,” said Zito. “A dynamic player with a big shot, we are excited to add some size to our lineup as we welcome Kevin to South Florida.”
Stenlund, 26, recorded nine points in 54 regular season games (6-3-9) and one goal in five postseason games (1-0-1) with the Winnipeg Jets in 2022-23. Stenlund has recorded 29 points (17-12-29) with Winnipeg (2022-23) and Columbus (2018-19 to 2021-22) over 125 career NHL regular season games.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden has appeared in 160 games in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Cleveland Monsters (2017-18 to 2021-22) and Manitoba Moose (2022-23) recording 84 points (33-51-84).
Originally selected by Columbus in the second round (58th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Stenlund previously competed in 151 games with HV71, winning the 2017 Swedish Hockey League Championship and a 2014 J20 Gold Medal.
