Florida Atlantic Heads to Orlando Monday to Face Unbeaten Knights

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Owls (4-5) begin a two-game road stretch beginning at Big 12 foe UCF (8-0) on Monday, Dec. 18. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Addition Financial Arena and on ESPN+.

  • Florida Atlantic’s assists leader is Devyn Scott, who has dished out a team-best 2.3 assists per game.
  • Defensively, the Owls are led on the glass by Janeta Rozentale, who ranks third in the AAC and leads the team with 8.4 rebounds per game. Moore ranks second on the Owls with 6.5 rebounds per game.
  • Dyllan Hanna leads the Owls in blocks, recording 1.2 blocks per game.

LAST TIME OUT

  • The Owls fell in a hard-fought heartbreaker 46-45 against the Howard Bison on Saturday.
  • Mya Perry and Jada Moore led the Owls in the contest.
  • Perry turned in her fifth double-figure performance of the season, scoring a game-high 19 points, shooting 46 percent (6-of-13) from the field, 63 percent (5-of-8) from 3-point range, and a perfect 100 percent (2-of-2) from the line, while also adding a career-best eight rebounds.
  • Moore scored 10 points, shooting 33 percent (4-of-12) from the field, and adding seven rebounds.
  • Janeta Rozentale led the Owls on the glass, tying for a game-high 11 rebounds, in addition to adding a pair of blocks and two assists.
  • The Owls outscored the Bison 12-11 in the second and 10-5 in the fourth periods.
  • Florida Atlantic also held a huge advantage in points off turnovers, outscoring Howard 16-7, which also led to the Owls’ holding a 6-0 advantage in fast break points.
  • The Owls also dominated from beyond the arc, outscoring the Bison 38 percent to 23 percent from deep.

SCOUTING UCF

  • UCF enters Monday’s contest undefeated at 8-0, recording the Knights best-ever season start in program history.
  • As a team, the Knights rank lead the Big 12 and 29th nationally in free throw percentage, shooting 77.7 percent from the line. They also rank third in the Big 12 and 18th nationally in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to 33.9 percent from the field.
  • The Knights have three scorers averaging double figures this season, led by Kaitlin Peterson with 19.6 points per game. Mya Burns and Laila Jewett follow just behind Peterson at 11.4 and 10.8 points per game, respectively.
  • Jewett leads the Knights in assists, dishing out a team-best 3.9 assists per game, and steals, grabbing 1.6 steals per game.
  • UCF’s rebounds leader is Achol Akot, averaging 9.8 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Florida Atlantic trails in the all-time series against UCF, 21-9, including a 4-11 mark when playing in Orlando. The Owls have won three of the last four meetings between the two teams, whoever the Knights won the last meeting between the two teams as the Owls fell in a 94-74 battle on Nov. 14, 2014, in Orlando.
