Five Hurricanes Earn All-ACC Academic Team Distinction

Miami’s five All-ACC Academic Team honorees is a new program record.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A record-setting five members of the University of Miami men’s basketball team earned 2024-25 All-ACC Academic Team distinction, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Previously, the Hurricanes had placed a program-high four players on the All-ACC Academic Team in 2023-24.

Senior Jalen Blackmon, graduate students Brandon Johnson and Lynn Kidd, redshirt junior AJ Staton-McCray and freshman Austin Swartz all garnered their first conference academic honor.

Student-athletes must have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher for the most recent semester, in addition to maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout their college career to earn All-Academic honors. Additionally, student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of games this past season in order to garner the prestigious award.

Miami has now placed at least one player on the All-ACC Academic Team in 17 of its 20 years in the league.
