8/7/2024 | Football BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s Zuberi Mobley has been named to the Comeback Player of the Year Watch List. The running back played just three games in 2023 before an injury cut his season short. Mobley has played in 17 games as an Owl with 131 carries and 629 yards, culminating in three 2022 scores. COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR The College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), in association with The Associated Press (AP) and the Fiesta Bowl Organization, today released a “Watch List” of 90 college football student-athletes from 68 different schools currently under consideration for the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Award. Since 2018, the award has recognized college football student-athletes for overcoming injury, illness, or other circumstances. After each season, in a vote by a panel of college football writers, editors, and sports information directors, three college football student-athletes are honored as Comeback Player of the Year Award winners at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. FAN FEST Join the Florida Atlantic Owls at the 2024 Duffy’s Sports Grill Fan Fest, scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at FAU Stadium. The football team will hold an open-to-the-public practice. MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY Florida Atlantic’s football home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at FAU Stadium versus Army West Point.
