BOCA RATON, Fla. – Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books with eight former Florida Atlantic Owls seeing action. Here’s a rundown of how each performed during the sixth week (All gametimes listed below are Eastern):

#0 Azeez Al-Shaair | LB | Houston Texans
– In limited snaps, Al-Shaair made three tackles and made a big hit to force a fumble recovered by Houston’s’ defense, his first contribution to a turnover this season. The Texans comfortably beat the New England Patriots by a score of 41-21.
Texans’ Record: 5-1

#66 Evan Anderson | DT | San Francisco 49ers
– Anderson earned his second NFL opportunity, this time on a primetime Thursday night matchup against the divisional rival Seattle Seahawks. He saw the field early and often and recorded two tackles, first coming on the game’s opening drive and then later in the third quarter when he stuffed Seattle’s quarterback at the goal line to prevent a touchdown. The 49ers picked up a key 36-24 victory to even their win-loss record.
49ers’ Record: 3-3

#84 Harrison Bryant | TE | Las Vegas Raiders
– Facing off against his former Owl teammate James Pierre and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bryant saw an expanded role, making his second start in three games and seeing a season-high five targets in the passing game. He turned three of them into receptions, including taking a pass in the flat and making a 14-yard gain for the first down. The Raiders were defeated, 32-13.

#91 Trey Hendrickson | DE | Cincinnati Bengals
– Playing in primetime, Hendrickson put forth yet another elite performance pressuring the New York Giants’ quarterback all night. He notched two sacks to put him at five on the season and three QB hits for 10 total in 2024. This marks the 13th multi-sack performance of his eight-year career.

Hendrickson’s relentless outing was key to the defense that allowed just seven points in the 17-7 Sunday Night Football win against his former Owl teammate in Greg Joseph.

#43 Matthew Hayball | P | New Orleans Saints
– Hayball saw the field 11 times, six for punting purposes. He set a new career-long punt, a booming 58-yarder in New Orleans’ 51-27 loss to the divisional rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Saints’ Record: 2-4
Next Game: vs. Denver – Thursday 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)

#36 Greg Joseph | K | New York Giants
– In the Giants’ 17-7 defeat against Hendrickson and the Bengals, Joseph nailed his only extra point attempt, putting him at a perfect 6-for-6 on the season.
Giants’ Record: 2-4
Next Game: vs. Philadelphia – Sunday, 1 p.m. (FOX)

#42 James Pierre | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
– Pierre continues to see playing time, seeing the field for 13 snaps on the defensive side of the ball and 16 times on special teams, both season-highs. The Steelers picked up a key 32-13 victory over his old teammate Bryant and the Las Vegas Raiders.
Steelers’ Record: 4-2
Next Game: at N.Y. Jets – Sunday, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

#73 Brandon Walton | OT | Carolina Panthers
– The Panthers used one of their two weekly practice squad elevations on Walton, who now has made an appearance in an NFL game for three consecutive seasons. He played four snaps on the offensive field goal unit as the team fell 38-20 to the NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons.
Panthers’ Record: 1-5

– “Motor” missed his second consecutive game due to injury against the Cincinnati Bengals.
