FAU Women’s Basketball’s 2021-22 Schedule Released

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team’s 2021-22 schedule has been revealed, as announced by head coach Jennifer Sullivan on Tuesday. FAU will play 17 home games at Abessinio Court at FAU Arena, which includes an exhibition game and two home tournaments.

“We are excited to usher in a new era of FAU women’s basketball and to welcome back our fans to FAU Arena,” said Sullivan. “We have put together a challenging and well-balanced schedule that includes 16 home games in the regular season. The non-conference portion of our schedule with give us 11 opportunities to grow and get better as a team, as well as prepare us for the Conference USA portion of our schedule. It’s going to be an exciting year!”

Fans will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Owls on Friday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m., as the team hosts Saint Leo for an exhibition. The team will then hold its home opener the following week, as they play host to Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. FAU will close out the homestand with a Sunday afternoon matchup against Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m.

The Owls will hit the road to face Miami on Nov. 18 and North Florida on Nov. 21 prior to a holiday weekend.

FAU will host the 2021 Thanksgiving Tournament, the 13th of its kind, on Friday, Nov. 26 and Saturday, Nov. 27. Tulsa, Austin Peay and Davidson will be present in Boca Raton. The Owls will play Tulsa on Friday at noon and wrap up the tournament with a 2:30 p.m. matchup against Davidson.

The Owls will hit the road for a two-game road trip versus Kennesaw State (Thursday, Dec. 2) and Boise State (Sunday, Dec. 5), and then will host Florida Memorial on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.

To conclude the non-conference slate, the Owls will host Richmond, Southern Miss and Alabama A&M for the Pre-Christmas Tournament, taking place on Sunday, Dec. 19 to Monday, Dec. 20. The Owls will tipoff against Richmond on Sunday at noon and Alabama A&M on Monday at 2:30 p.m.

With conference play, the Owls will ring in the new year with a road trip to Charlotte and Old Dominion. The Owls will play the 49ers on Thursday, Dec. 30 and the Monarchs on Saturday, Jan. 1.

The C-USA home opener will be a date with Marshall on Saturday, Jan. 8. That begins a three-game homestand, which wraps up against Middle Tennessee (Thursday, Jan. 13) and UAB (Saturday, Jan. 15).

The rest of the Owls’ home games will be against UTEP (Thursday, Jan. 27), UTSA (Saturday, Jan. 29), WKU (Thursday, Feb. 10), ODU (Thursday, Feb. 24), Charlotte (Saturday, Feb. 26) and FIU (Saturday, March 5).

FAU’s remaining road games are trips to WKU (Thursday, Jan. 20), Marshall (Saturday, Jan. 22), Louisiana Tech (Thursday, Feb. 3), Southern Miss (Saturday, Feb. 5), North Texas (Thursday, Feb. 17), Middle Tennessee (Saturday, Feb. 19) and FIU (Saturday, March 5).

The 2022 C-USA Championship will be held in Frisco, Texas, March 9-12.

All weekday home conference games are set for 6 p.m., while weekend home C-USA contests are set for 2 p.m. Complete television and broadcast information will be available at a later date.
