BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University’s 2022 football schedule is set, as announced by Conference USA on Wednesday.
The Owls will open the season with a C-USA opponent on Saturday, Aug. 27 against Charlotte. FAU has opened with conference play just once before, and coincidentally, that too was versus the 49ers. That match was played on Oct. 3, 2020, a year that schedules were altered due to COVID-19. The last time FAU opened the season in August and at home was versus Wagner, on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2012.
FAU will then go on the road to play Ohio on Saturday, Sept. 3 prior to two home non-conference contests against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 10 and versus in-state foe UCF on Saturday, Sept. 17.
New this year is the opportunity to play more teams on the “western” side of the conference. FAU will travel to North Texas and UTEP and will host UAB and Rice.
