Farrow and Carlin Compete on Day One of Diving Zones

The duo opened up the three-day diving competition on the 3-meter board.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Alex Farrow and Nicholas Carlin represented the University of Florida on the 3-meter board during the first day of the NCAA Diving Zones at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga.

Farrow led Florida’s diving effort on day one with a tally of 291.50, good for 24th-place.

Carlin wasn’t far behind Farrow with an opening round score of 285.20 to finish three spots below in 27th-place.

Both did not produce high enough scores to advance, as only the top-18 prelim scores advance to the next round. Farrow’s six-dive tally was 37.65 points from a finals qualification.

Nick Lydon, who was entered into the event, scratched and did not compete.

Quotables

Head Diving Coach Bryan Gillooly- “Alex was good today but he needs to be at his very best to advance. Unfortunately, he came up short but I know he will shake it off and be ready to make another run at it tomorrow.”
