DETROIT – Jan. 3, 2025 – The Detroit Pistons will recognize Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups when the Pistons take on the Portland Trail Blazers at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Little Caesars Arena. Fans can purchase tickets to celebrate Billups’ Hall of Fame induction at pistons.com/tickets.
The first 5,000 fans will receive a Chauncey Billups bobblehead presented by Kroger. During the game, fans will relive moments from Billups’ illustrious career with video montages from his 8-year tenure with the Pistons. Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats for halftime as artist Evan Struck will speed paint a photo of Billups.
The Pistons will also celebrate Billups Hall of Fame induction with a special retail capsule with Mitchell & Ness on Monday. The two-piece capsule features a “Mr. Big Shot” t-shirt and a Hall of Fame Hoodie. The pieces will be available at the Team Store at Little Caesars Arena, online at Pistons313Shop.com and at Plum Market at the Henry Ford Pistons Performance Center. Purchases made online and at the Team Store will include a commemorative Chauncey Billups Hall of Fame Trading Card.
Billups, the 2004 Finals MVP, helped the Pistons win Eastern Conference Championships in 2004 and 2005 and the NBA Championship in 2004, posting a .676 winning percentage in a Pistons uniform, which is the highest win percentage by a player in franchise history (Min. 300 games), and his 2,984 assists rank fourth in franchise history. He averaged 15.2 points, 5.4 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in 1,043 NBA games over 17 seasons with Boston, Toronto, Denver, Minnesota, Detroit, New York and the Los Angeles Clippers. Billups was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame this past summer on Oct. 14.
