DETROIT PISTONS SIGN FREE AGENT CARIS LEVERT

DETROIT, Mich. (July 8, 2025) – The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has signed guard Caris LeVert to a contract. Per team policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed. LeVert, 6-6, 205, is a nine-year NBA veteran and has appeared in 524 career games (223 starts) with the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers and Brooklyn Nets, holding career averages of 13.9 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals while shooting 43.7% from the field and 34.5% from 3-point range. In 25 career playoff games, LeVert has averaged 14.9 points (.431 FG%), 4.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 29.3 minutes per game. A native of Columbus, Ohio, LeVert finished the 2024-25 season with Atlanta where he averaged 14.9 points, 2.9 assists and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 48.2% from the field and 33.8% from 3-point range in 26 games. On Feb. 6, 2025, LeVert was acquired by Atlanta via trade from Cleveland, where he played under Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff from 2022 to 2024. LeVert began his NBA career with Brooklyn (2016–21), where he spent five seasons before being traded to Indiana in 2021, where he played parts of two seasons before being acquired by Cleveland in 2022. LeVert was selected 20th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers before being traded on draft night to Brooklyn. LeVert played four seasons at the University of Michigan, where he was named Second-Team All-Big Ten (2014) and helped the Wolverines reach the NCAA Championship game in 2013. -pistons.com-
