DETROIT – May 8, 2023 – Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey and center Jalen Duren were named to the 2022-23 Kia NBA All-Rookie Second Team, the NBA announced today. Ivey and Duren are the third Pistons duo to both earn All-Rookie honors since 2012-13, joining Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart (2020-21) and Andre Drummond and Kyle Singler (2012-13). The fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Ivey averaged 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 0.8 steals in 31.1 minutes over 74 games (73 starts). Among all NBA rookies this season, Ivey ranked first in assists, second in 3-pointers made, third in points and tied-for-fourth in steals. He finished the season with 1,204 points, 387 assists, 288 rebounds and 120 3-pointers, just the fifth rookie in NBA history to reach such minimums. The Purdue product became the fourth rookie in Pistons history with at least 1,000 points, 300 assists and 250 rebounds and was the fourth rookie in franchise history to average 15.0 points and 5.0 assists per game. He scored at least 10 points in 39 consecutive games to end the season, the longest streak by a Pistons rookie in franchise history and fourth-longest streak by an NBA rookie in the past 25 years. He led all rookies with 69 games of 10-plus points and ranked second with three 30-point games. Ivey scored the eighth-most points by a rookie in franchise history (third among 2022-23 rookies) and his 15 games with at least 10 points, five rebounds and five assists ranked second among rookies (Banchero, 16). Duren, selected 13th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, averaged 9.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.9 blocks in 24.9 minutes over 67 games (31 starts). Duren led the Pistons with 19 double-doubles, the fourth-most by a rookie in franchise history and fourth-most by a teenager in NBA/ABA history. In the process, his .648 FG% was the highest in franchise history (min. 150 FGM) and his 153 dunks were the fourth-most in a season in Pistons history. Duren finished fifth in the NBA averaging 3.4 offensive rebounds per game. The Philadelphia native finished second among all NBA rookies in rebounds (595) and offensive rebounds (229) and ranked third in blocks (59). His 595 rebounds led the team, and his 229 offensive boards were the second-most by a rookie in franchise history. Duren joined Dwight Howard and Moses Malone as the only teenagers in NBA/ABA history to record 200 offensive rebounds.  The NBA’s global media voting panel, which consists of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters, selected five players for the NBA All-Rookie First Team and five players for the NBA All-Rookie Second Team at any position. Players received two points for each First Team vote and one point for each Second Team vote. Complete voting results can be seen here. -pistons.com-
