Team Acquires Draft Rights To No. 37 Selection, Bobi Klintman, and Guard/Forward Wendell Moore Jr. In Exchange For Draft Rights To No. 53 Selection
DETROIT, Mich. (July 6, 2024) – The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has acquired the rights to No. 37 overall pick Bobi Klintman and guard/forward Wendell Moore Jr. from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for the draft rights to the No. 53 selection.
Klintman, 6-9, 212, appeared in 23 games last year for the Cairns Taipans as part of the Australian NBL’s ‘Next Stars Program and averaged 9.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.5 blocks in 21.3 minutes per game while shooting 35.7% from 3-point range.
Prior to his stint overseas, the Malmo, Sweden, native played one season collegiately at Wake Forest during the 2022-23 NCAA season and averaged 5.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.6 blocks over 33 games while shooting 40.7% from the field and 36.8% from 3-point range for the Deamon Deacons.
Moore Jr., 6-5, 213, appeared in 54 games over two seasons for the Timberwolves and averaged 1.1 points (.443 FG), 0.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 4.2 minutes per game.
He was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft after playing three seasons at Duke University. Moore Jr. was named Second-Team All-ACC and ACC All-Defense following his junior season in 2021-22. He averaged 13.4 points (.500 FG), 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists during his junior season and helped the Blue Devils reach the 2022 NCAA Final Four.
