DETROIT LIONS ANNOUNCE 2025 TOUCHDOWN IN YOUR TOWN APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Michigan high school football and cheer programs can apply for support at www.detroitlions.com/touchdown

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions announced today that online applications for their 2025 Touchdown in Your Town program are open now through May 29. The program benefits high school football and cheer programs in the state of Michigan.

In partnership with United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM) and Planet Fitness, the Lions are dedicated to aiding schools by supplying crucial equipment, technology, apparel and/or grants funded by the Detroit Lions Foundation. UDIM will also supply schools with a milk grant and Planet Fitness will renovate a weight room for at least one of the benefitting schools.

“After extending our reach last year by adding cheer programs into the mix, we look forward to keeping the momentum going and seeing the ways we can support Michigan’s high school football players and cheerleaders in year seven of this initiative,” said Detroit Lions Vice President of Detroit Lions Foundation and Community Relations Roxanne Caine. “We are so grateful for our partners, UDIM and Planet Fitness, for their continuous support of the Detroit Lions Foundation and the community, helping us maximize the positive impact we can make for student athletes statewide.”

Schools must apply for support through an online application at www.detroitlions.com/touchdown, which opened today, Tuesday, April 15 and will run through Thursday, May 29 at 11:59 PM EST. Coaches, athletic directors, and football and cheer staff members from Michigan high schools are eligible to apply for one football grant and/or one cheer grant. Submissions will be reviewed by a committee comprised of members from the Lions organization and participating corporate partners.

Once the programs are selected, the Lions will work with each school to surprise students and staff to reveal the new resources and/or funding during a special experience with the Detroit Lions.

Designed to foster safe play and a love of football while leveling the playing field for Michigan high school football programs, the Touchdown in Your Town program has invested more than $839,000 since 2019 and is in year two of also supporting high school cheer programs. This program is a key pillar to the Detroit Lions’ $5,000,000 investment in youth sports throughout the community.
