Dallmann’s Hat Trick Sends SMU to American Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship Final

DALLAS, Texas – A hat trick from SMU graduate forward Jelldrik Dallmann powered the top-seeded Mustangs past No. 4 Memphis, 3-0 on Thursday night to advance to the American Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship final.

SMU (13-1-2) advances to the final with the win and will face No. 2 Charlotte on Sunday, November 12 at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT on ESPN+. The Tigers move to 10-5-2 on the season.

The Mustangs had opportunities in the box early in the first half but couldn’t capitalize until American Rookie of the Year Niv Berkovitz found Jelldrik Dallman who sent it home from 18 yards out in the 25th minute.

The Berkovitz-Dallmann combo struck for a second time to open the second half in the 51st minute as the freshman found Dallmann with a through ball for his second goal of the match.

Dallmann completed his hat-trick in the 60th minute, heading a cross from Kyran Chambron Pinho.

The Mustangs defense held strong all game, allowing just two shots on goal, while American Goalkeeper of the Year Cole Johnson finished with two saves.
