BOCA RATON, Fla. – On Friday afternoon, Conference USA announced its All-Academic team for the 2022 women’s soccer season. A pair of Florida Atlantic University student-athletes were honored for their performances in the classroom and on the field in Gi Krstec and Luisa Daikeler. The duo continues a streak of now 10 seasons for FAU having a member on the All-Academic team.

“I am honored to be recognized as a member of the Conference USA All-Academic team,” Daikeler said. “As student-athletes, we put in so much work both on the field and the classroom, so to receive this award is very special to me.”
“I’m delighted to have been acknowledged for my academic performance this year,” Krstec said. “I am appreciative of the excellent academic staff here at FAU who point me in the right direction. I have a terrific MBA program, which is why I am so successful.”
Daikeler, a senior captain for the Owls, was named First Team All-C-USA Academic. Over the course of her academic career, Daikeler has earned a 3.95 grade point average while majoring in biological sciences. On the pitch, Daikeler has been a centerpiece of FAU’s defensive line, one that has allowed only 16 goals in 19 games, which ranks the Owls third in the conference with a 0.84 goals against average.
Krstec, another Owl captain, was named Second Team All-C-USA Academic. The redshirt senior has posted a GPA of 3.55. Krstec is currently in FAU’s renowned MBA of sports management program. On the field, Krstec has been a standout for the Owls with five goals, three assists and 13 points. Krstec is tied for second on the team in goals and sits alone in second on FAU in points.
Daikeler, Krstec and the Owls will compete in the Conference USA Championship Tournament next week in Charlotte.
