Welcomes New CEO Charinus Davis
The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce announces the retirement of its long-time President and CEO, Cindy Brief, after 18 years of dedicated service. Under her visionary leadership, the Chamber has experienced unprecedented growth, established valuable partnerships, and strengthened its commitment to supporting the local business community. During her tenure, Cindy Brief achieved numerous milestones that have shaped the Chamber’s identity and impact. She facilitated the successful merger of the Coral Springs and Coconut Creek Chambers, uniting two communities under a shared vision for economic prosperity. She also spearheaded key initiatives, including the Professional Women’s Alliance, The Power of Inclusion Summit, the Business Academy, and the Council of Economic Advisors, fostering education, diversity, and community engagement. Through her leadership, the Trustee Program has doubled in size, and the Government Relations Committee has become a pivotal voice in advocacy for local businesses. “Leading this Chamber and working alongside such an incredible team and membership has been the honor of my career,” Brief said. “I am grateful for the support of our members and partners over the years and am confident that the Chamber will continue to thrive under new leadership.” While stepping down as CEO, Cindy will continue her commitment to the Chamber in a focused role as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.Donna Denton, Chair of the CSCCR Chamber Board stated, “On behalf of the entire Board, I want to express our deepest gratitude to Cindy for her years of dedicated leadership. Her vision and commitment have transformed this Chamber, and we’re grateful that she will continue to be a part of our journey in her new role.” Taking the helm as the new CEO is Charinus Davis, who has served as the Chamber’s Executive Vice President and brings over 29 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Previously, Charinus was the Chief Operating Officer of the Dan Marino Foundation, where she provided program services including employment and entrepreneurship to individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities in South Florida. She also served as the CEO of Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce and Educational Foundation, as well as positions on the Board of Directors for organizations such as the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals, the Broward County Council of Chambers, and the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. Charinus holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy. Davis is eager to lead the Chamber into its next chapter. “I am deeply honored to step into this role and build on the legacy Cindy has established,” Davis said. “I look forward to continuing to serve our members and partners as we pursue new opportunities for growth and innovation.” The Chamber thanks Cindy Brief for her years of service and dedication, which have set a foundation of excellence. The transition in leadership will officially take place on January 31st, 2025, as the Chamber looks forward to an exciting future under Charinus Davis’s guidance.
