GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Among the 3,000 who earn their University of Florida degrees this weekend are more than 35 Gator student-athletes.
19 members of the 2023 summer graduation class were part of a national and/or conference championship team during their Gator careers.
28 earned Academic All-Southeastern Conference honors.
Summer commencement ceremonies begin Friday, Aug. 11 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 12.

2022 NCAA Indoor & Outdoor Women’s Track & Field – Gabrielle Wilkinson
2022 NCAA Indoor Women’s Track & Field – Grace Stark
2022 NCAA Outdoor Women’s Track & Field – Vanessa Watson
One won an NCAA Individual title:
* Grace Stark – 2022 NCAA Indoor 60-meter hurdles
More Summer Gator Grad Notables:
* Six earned All-America honors – Leah Clapper (gymnastics), Will Grant (tennis), Nya Reed (gymnastics), Grace Stark (track & field), Vanessa Watson (track & field) and Gabrielle Wilkinson (track & field)
* Leah Clapper was a 2021 & 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large selection. She was the 2021 Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for gymnastics.
* This is the third consecutive August that Leah Clapper receives a degree from UF. She graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in Advertising in 2021 and received her first master’s degree in Mass Communications in 2022. She receives her master’s in Entrepreneurship on Saturday.
* Five graduate with honors.
