BIRMINGHAM –After scoring her first career goal, which was the equalizer in UAB’s 1-1 tie against UTSA on Oct. 9, Hannah Clark was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week.
Clark found the back of the net in the 74th minute, making the score level after the Blazers trailed for the previous 71 minutes.
This is Clark’s first league honor.
Clark joins Asha Zuniga (Defensive Player of the Week on 8/23 and 9/27) and Eve Beyer (Goalkeeper of the Week on 10/4) as weekly award winners this season.
UAB (7-2-4, 4-0-2 C-USA) hosts Charlotte on Oct. 13 at 7:04 p.m. The 49ers (3-7-3, 2-3-1 C-USA) are coming off a 1-1 draw against Middle Tennessee on Oct. 6. The match is UAB’s breast cancer awareness match.
