BOCA RATON, Fla. – A bye week could not have come at a better time. The Florida Atlantic University Owls began practice the first week of August and have not tapped the breaks since. That eight-week span included four weeks of preseason training with the heat index never dropping below 114 degrees and ended with back-to-back road games against perennial power Clemson and Big Ten opponent Illinois. The bye week also falls right before FAU opens its first season of American Athletic Conference play. The Owls will play host to Tulsa on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.
