DELAND, Fla. – No. 18 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball wrapped up regular season play on Friday, dropping a pair of decisions against No. 16 Stetson and North Florida, 4-1.
Florida Atlantic fell to 16-17 overall and 2-4 in CUSA play, while Stetson moved to 19-9 and North Florida improved to 19-11.
NO. 18 FLORIDA ATLANTIC 1 – NO. 16 STETSON 4
No. 16 Stetson jumped out to a 2-0 lead after earning wins on courts five and four to open the match. Logan and Kendall Mignerey fell in straight sets against Stetson’s Kiki Drozd and Klea Sirois, 21-18, 21-15, on court five. Olivia Strandberg and Alivia Orvieto fell in a two-setter against the Hatters’ Alanna Shields and Alina Urzua, 21-14, 22-20. Marketa Svozilova and Courtney Moon cut the Sandy Owls deficit in half, picking up Florida Atlantic’s first point against Stetson on court two. The pair earned a straight-set sweep against Stetson’s Carolina Ferraris and Audrey Gauthier, 21-16, 21-12. Stetson clinched the match on court one as Ashleigh Adams and Julie Honzovicova fell in two sets against the Hatters’ top pair of Shae Henson and Tori Clement, 21-18, 21-13. Stetson eventually closed out the 4-1 win on court three as the Sandy Owls’ Kate McLaughlin and Sloane Woolwine fell in two sets to Stetson’s Vanessa Hurnikova and Lauren Della, 21-19, 21-18.

North Florida opened the match with a 2-0 lead after taking wins on court five and four. The Sandy Owls’ four pair of Olivia Strandberg and Sloane Woolwine dropped a two-setter against the Ospreys’ Cameron Humphries and Hayden Wooldridge, 21-12, 21-15. Logan and Kendall Mignerey fell on court five against North Florida’s Mariana Feliciano Sanchez and Mackenzie Murphy, 21-16, 21-17. The Ospreys clinched the dual win on court three after Kate McLaughlin and Mikayla Law-Heese fell in two sets against North Florida’s Iris Fletcher and Katie Camp, 21-14, 21-15. The Osprey extended their lead to four on court one as Julie Honzovicova and Ashleigh Adams fell against UNF’s Michaela Rezentes and Taylor Pierce in two sets, 22-20, 22-20. However, the Sandy Owls got one back to prevent the sweep on court two. Marketa Svozilova and Courtney Moon rallied to capture a three-set comeback on court two, defeating UNF’s Presley Murray and Madison Espy, 11-21, 21-17, 15-9.
