| 10/16/2024 | Women’s Beach Volleyball BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic beach volleyball assistant coach Kristi Tekavec was recognized as an American Volleyball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 Beach honoree on Wednesday. The AVCA Thirty Under 30 Beach Awards, now in their fourth year, shines a spotlight on the great work that the next generation of beach coaches are doing to help the ever-increasing number of high school beach players-both girls and boys. The honor marks the second for Coach Tekavec, recognizing her continued commitment to the sport as one of just eight Thirty Under 30 Beach repeat award winners. Coach Tekavec has been a monumental part of the Sandy Owls success, helping the program win two conference championships, CCSA (2021) and CUSA (2023), in addition to earning back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2022 and 2023.
