JACKSONVILLE (Jan. 26, 2021) – University of South Florida men’s golf standout Albin Bergstrom shot a three-under-par 69 on Tuesday in the final round of the season-opening Timaquana Collegiate, en route to a third-place finish, the top finish for the Bulls in the two-day, three-round event at the Timaquana Country Club.
Bergstrom, from Ljunghusen, Sweden, a PING All-Southeast Region selection during the shortened spring season of 2020, shot 67, 71, and 69 for a three-round total of 207, just four spots out of first.
As a team, USF jumped four spots on the final day to finish in seventh with a three-round total of 855 (286-285-284), just eight shots out of a tie for fourth.
In addition to Bergstrom’s finish, two other Bulls placed in the top-30 of the event. Kyle Flexsenhar (Lake Mary, Fla.) finished in a tie for 26th with a three-round total of 215 (71-73-71), and Sam Nicholson (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) was one shot behind with a 216 (75-69-72), tied for 29th.
