(On what led to the change of the Bucs now expecting to win on the road) “Just the challenge that every team is going to face at home. You know you’re basically playing against two people: the crowd and the team. So when we come in, we just try to lock in on our job, lock in on our responsibilities to take over the game and get the crowd out of it and try to play Buccaneers football. That’s what we did today.”
(On Sean Murphy-Bunting’s interception in the end zone) “It was big, man, it was big. It was great communication on the back end. Those guys were just playing their technique, playing their job. In a situation like that, our backs against the wall, we needed a big play. Sean was able to be in the right place at the right time with perfect coverage. We bailed them out a couple times on fourth downs and that was a moment where we needed to step up and make a play. And Sean was the playmaker in that instance.”
(On what they learned from blowing a lead to a rookie quarterback against the Giants to today) “That was just leadership, poor leadership back then. It was poor leadership back then, just assuming guys are ready, just assuming guys are staying locked in. Now, learning from that experience, it’s just keeping guys locked in, keeping guys ready and steady. There was a moment where things weren’t going our way. After that interception on the goal line, it was a momentum shift and something big. That’s something we didn’t get weeks prior, but now, we did it, so there’s a lot of growth around the building.”
