BROWNS VS. JAGUARS – SUNDAY, NOV. 29
The Jacksonville Jaguars play the second of back-to-back home games at TIAA Bank Field this Sunday, Nov. 29 when they host the Cleveland Browns. The matchup kicks off at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast regionally by CBS, locally on WJAX, and on radio on WJXL (1010AM, 92.5 FM) and 99.9 FM Gator Country. This week’s game is presented by Universal Studios.
TIAA Bank Field will be open for a limited capacity crowd on Sunday and tickets are still available at www.jaguars.com/tickets. Fans watching from home can also tune in to Jags@Home, a second screen viewing experience that gives fans an all-new way to connect with the team on game day and take home cash prizes.
HALFTIME NATURALIZATION CEREMONY
During halftime of Sunday’s game, 51 northeast Florida residents will gather at TIAA Bank Field for a naturalization ceremony and complete their final step on their journey to U.S. citizenship. This is the third time the Jaguars have hosted a naturalization ceremony, and the team remains the only NFL team to ever do so. This year’s participants originate from 24 different countries, spanning the globe from Afghanistan to Venezuela, and range in age from 20 to 62. On Sunday they’ll complete the final step on their journey to U.S. citizenship. The Honorable Marcia Morales Howard, United States District Court Judge, will administer the Oath of Allegiance. Each of these lawful permanent residents has met all the requirements under the law for citizenship. PREGAME CEREMONIES
This week’s national anthem will be performed virtually by local television star Matthew Johnson, who finished in the Top 24 of season 16 of “The Voice” on NBC. Following the anthem, a flyover will be performed by members of the U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron Jacksonville. America’s first and only airborne law enforcement unit trained and authorized to employ Airborne Use of Force, the unit has grown from the original 10 members in 1990 to 231 today and now utilizes the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter to execute their counter drug mission.
Prior to the anthem, the starting lineup will be introduced virtually by children of Jaguars season ticket members. Moments before kickoff, the traditional First DUUUVAL, presented by Duval Motor Company, will be delivered virtually by the Digital Video Technology Class from Atlantic Coast High School. The students produced the video themselves and will be in attendance on Sunday to watch their creative work on two of the world’s largest outdoor video boards.
COMMUNITY AND MILITARY HONOREES
During Thursday’s game, the Jaguars will honor former U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Markus Paridon as the Veteran of the Game presented by Dr. Patrick Basile. In his 26 years of service, he earned two Meritorious Service Medals among many other honors, and served in an array of positions including the 82nd Airborne, 124th Infantry, 148 Infantry, 2nd Battalion/20th Special Forces and retired with the Florida Army National Guard. Paridon has seven children, two of whom are currently serving in the U.S. Army.
As the game enters the fourth quarter, the Navy Mutual Bell Ringer will be Master Sgt. Sedrick Miller. He has served in the U.S. military for 17 years and is currently stationed with the Florida Air National Guard’s 125th Fighter Wing in Jacksonville. Miller has deployed five times during his career and his many awards and recognitions include two Air Force Achievement Medals.
The TIAA Bank Community Champion of the Game for Week 12 is Javon Williams, a military veteran and founder and managing director of Jacksonville Youth Works, Inc., a nonprofit organization aimed at empowering youth in urban core communities with hands-on career training, financial literacy education, mental health counseling and mentoring.
In 2020, the Jaguars are recognizing frontline workers during each game as a salute to the healthcare workers and first responders who have supported the community’s health and well being during the COVID-19 crisis. This week’s honorees are the 17 athletic trainers from Project 17, a partnership between the Jaguars Foundation and Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program to place full-time, certified athletic trainers at all 17 high schools in the Duval County Public School system. Each of these individuals has cared for their student athletes during the pandemic, ensuring high school sports can continue safely.
JAGS@HOME ADDS NEW PRIZES
This week, fans joining Jags@Home, the team’s second screen viewing platform, have the chance to win a variety of prizes by participating in live trivia and predictive gaming. Up to $2,500 in cash prizes is given away every quarter and this week Jags@Home will include a suite giveaway challenge. Fans 21 years of age or older and within 30 miles of the stadium also have the chance to win an in-game home delivery of Bud Light, tailgate supplies and an autographed Jaguars jersey.
For fans who can’t be in the stadium this year due to COVID-19, the Jaguars have introduced Jags@Home, a second screen viewing platform designed to complement the game-watching experience and give fans watching from home an all-new way to connect with the team. On game day, fans can visit www.jagsathome.com on their computer, tablet or mobile device and get bonus analysis, statistics and traditional game day content. Jags@Home is hosted by Jaguars Digital Reporter and Host Ashlyn Sullivan and social media influencer Eric V. Dunn.
PROMOTING FAN HEALTH
The Jaguars and all stadium partners have created a contactless experience for the limited capacity crowd attending games at TIAA Bank Field this season. Accommodations include physically-distanced parking, new security screening and ticket-scanning procedures, cashless concessions, mobile ordering and pod seating. In addition, the Jaguars have added more than 750 hand-sanitizing stations throughout the venue, and certified disinfection specialists will be at the stadium on game day cleaning all high touchpoint areas with hospital-grade disinfectant. KEY FAN REMINDERS:
Here are some key reminders for fans during the 2020 season:
- Fans should not come to the stadium if they have COVID-19, are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, or know they’ve been exposed to COVID-19.
- Face coverings are required at TIAA Bank Field and strongly encouraged in all parking lots. Fans will be required to wear face coverings upon entry and throughout the stadium except when actively eating or drinking. Fans will receive consistent reminders about the need to mask up and support the team on Sunday.
- Tailgating is strongly discouraged.
- Fans should still use the Official Jacksonville Jaguars app to access their secure digital tickets on game day, which feature a dynamic barcode to prevent screenshots or counterfeit tickets. Fans can still conveniently transfer tickets to friends or family via email or text using their mobile device.
- The NFL’s clear bag policy is in effect at TIAA Bank Field. Fans are encouraged to leave all bags at home, but, if one is necessary, it should be either a clear bag no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”, or a non-clear bag no larger than 4.5” x 6.5.” Strict size enforcement will be in place for all non-clear bags.
- Thanks to Alert Today Florida, fans riding their bikes to all Jaguars home games can take advantage of free, secure parking. Jaguars fans can park their bikes as early as three hours before kickoff by visiting the bicycle check-in tent located between Gates 1 and 2 on the west side of TIAA Bank Field.
