FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Led by a pair of home runs – a grand slam and three-run home run – by Boris Peña (3-6, 2 HR, 7 RBI), the Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team defeated the Washburn Ichabods 17-2 on Sunday evening from the NSU Baseball Complex. Alongside Peña, three Sharks – Bryan Loriga (2-5), Henry Wallen (4-5, 3 R) and Justin Wachs (2-4, 4 RBI) – contributed multiple hits in the effort, while Kader Rabagh pitched a strong five innings on the mound, earning the win.

- Nova Southeastern wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Justin Wachs got the Sharks on the board first, working a walk with the bases loaded and bringing in Zeth Rodriguez.
- In the second inning, Landon Lowe came into score following an error by the Ichabods, extending the Nova Southeastern lead to 2-0.
- NSU plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, first on a RBI double by Wachs, which was followed by a RBI groundout by Tyson Cooper, putting the Sharks ahead 4-0.
- Washburn scored a run in both the fourth and fifth innings, cutting NSU’s lead to 4-2.
- Henry Wallen extended the Sharks lead to 5-2, bringing in Lowe with an RBI single, in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- Nova Southeastern rallied to score seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Cooper started the scoring by coming in on a wild pitch, before Peña launched a grand slam, his first home run of the season, and Wachs tacked on another pair of runs with a two-run single. As the Sharks led 12-2 following the frame.
- Peña added another home run in the eighth inning, bringing his RBI total to seven in the contest, and put NSU ahead 15-2.
- Nova Southeastern plated two more runs in the inning, taking a 17-2 victory over Washburn.
- Pedro Acosta, Oscar Hernandez, and Tyler Venegas combined to throw four innings of shutout baseball out of the bullpen, in relief of winning pitcher, Kadar Rabagh.
