FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Led by a pair of three-run home runs by Bryan Loriga (3-5, 3-R HR, 2B) and Ariel Garcia (1-4, 3-R HR) the Nova Southeastern Sharks defeated the Wingate Bulldogs 9-3 on Saturday afternoon at the NSU Baseball Complex. Collin Rothermel earned the win, tossing five innings, striking out six and allowing three earned runs.

How it Happened
Boris Pena got the scoring started for the Sharks, bringing in Landon Lowe with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. Later in the inning, Zeth Rodriguez came into score on a wild pitch, extending the NSU lead to 2-0.
Wingate responded with three runs in the top of the third inning, hitting a pair of home runs, taking a 3-2 lead over the Sharks.
Nova Southeastern quickly reclaimed the lead, courtesy of a three-run home run by Bryan Loriga, his first of the season, putting NSU in front 5-4.
Loriga started the bottom of the seventh inning with a double off the right field fence and later scored, alongside Henry Wallen, on a two-run single extending the lead to 6-3.
Ariel Garcia then hit a three-run home run, bringing in Mario Lopez Jr. and Wachs, giving Nova Southeastern a 9-3 lead.
Carlos Nolasco finished the game for the Sharks, recording the final three outs, as NSU defeated Wingate 9-3.
