3/17/2025 | Baseball BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball senior outfielder John Schroeder has been named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Sophomore pitcher Trey Beard was named to the Weekly Honorable Mention List for the third time this season. Schroeder went 10-for-20 at the plate with two home runs, 11 RBI, and nine runs scored in the Owls’ 5-0 week against Bucknell and Bradley. The senior homered in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. He’s currently riding a six-game hitting streak. This is Schroder’s first career Player of the Week honor after being named as a Weekly Honorable Mention twice in 2024. Beard tossed six shutout innings in Friday’s 6-0 victory over Bradley. He struck out nine, allowed three hits, and walked two.
