NEW ORLEANS, La. – Florida Atlantic baseball could not complete a three-game sweep of Tulane (28-20, 11-10) on Sunday, falling 6-4 in the series finale. The Owls (31-16, 12-9) exit the weekend in third place in the American Athletic Conference standings.
THE BEGINNING
Tulane used two doubles and a two-run home run to take a 3-0 lead in the second inning. They added another three runs in the fourth on four hits, three walks, and a passed ball.
TURNING POINT
The Owls’ comeback attempt started with a run in the sixth and picked up more steam with a three-run seventh. Carter Brady, Marshal Lipsey, and John Martinez provided the RBI.
FAU put the first two runners on in the eighth but could not capitalize. MJ Bollinger held the Green Wave scoreless in the bottom of the inning to give the offense a chance in the ninth. Danny Baez drew a leadoff walk before three consecutive flyouts ended the game.
THE BATS
Martinez and Leroux had two hits each to lead the offense.
THE ARMS
James Litman was charged with the loss after three innings and three runs allowed.
Steven Andrews, Carter Holjes, and Bollinger combined to hold Tulane scoreless from the fifth inning on.

The Owls return to the FAU Baseball Stadium to start a five-game homestand on Tuesday, May 6 vs. Florida Gulf Coast. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
