BASE | Owls Fall to Tulane in American Conference Semifinals

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball’s season came to an end on Saturday in the AAC semifinals with a 13-1 loss to Tulane. The Owls finish the season with a record of 28-29.
THE BEGINNING
The Owls opened the scoring in the top of the first. Walks drawn by Daulton Frank and Christian Adams set up an infield single by Jake Millan to make it 1-0.Tulane responded with a lengthy bottom of the frame. The Owls started freshman Trey Beard on short rest and the Green Wave jumped on the rookie for five runs. They added three in the second against Tyler Murphy.
THE TURNING POINT
The FAU offense stalled out with just one more hit from the second through the seventh innings. Meanwhile, Tulane continued to stretch the lead with a run in the fourth, a run in the fifth, and three in the sixth.
THE FINISH
Trailing 13-1 after six, the Owls could not bring the deficit back within 10 and the game ended in seven on the run rule.
THE BATS
The Owls finished with two hits and left five on base.
THE ARMS
The Owls used five pitchers, all of which allowed two or more runs.
Kyle Beaty went the longest with 2.2 innings. He allowed two runs on three hits.
