![]() BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball will put its four-game winning streak on the line on Friday night when it welcomes the Bradley Braves to town for a weekend series. Friday is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch. Saturday’s middle game will get underway at 4 p.m., and the finale on Sunday will start at noon. All games will be streamed on FAUSports.TV. OWLS IN REVIEW The Owls (14-3) swept a two-game midweek series with Bucknell on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Owls rallied from an early 5-1 deficit and eventually pulled away for a 15-8 win. FAU hitters drew 17 walks – tying the program’s single-game record set in March 1999. Marshall Lipsey had a double, a triple, and three walks. He also recorded three RBI. Patrick Ward homered and drove in another run with a base hit as part of a 3-for-4 night at the plate.The Owls continued to slug on Wednesday, ambushing the Bison for six runs in the first inning on the way to a 15-5 victory in eight innings. Dylan LaPointe launched a grand slam and finished with five RBI. John Martinez also drove in five runs and came up a home run short of the cycle. WHO’S HOT Jake Duer is second in Division I with 35 hits and fifth with a .493 batting average. He recorded his 12th multi-hit game of the season on Wednesday against Bucknell. Trey Beard will once again take the mound on Friday. Beard enters the weekend second in DI in strikeouts (43) and third in strikeouts per nine innings (18.43). Marshall Lipsey reached base 10 times in 12 trips to the plate against Bucknell. He was 2-for-3 on Tuesday and 3-for-4 on Wednesday.Lipsey ranks eighth in the country in on-base percentage (.612).Sunday’s projected starter, James Litman, finally conceded an earned run last Sunday against FIU, but the freshman’s ERA still sits at a strong 0.93 through four starts. THE OPPONENT The Braves (2-10) will be well-rested after not playing a midweek game. BU spent last weekend in Huntington, West Virginia, where they were swept by Marshall. Bradley’s two wins came against Siena on February 22 and 23. Head coach Elvis Dominguez has been at the helm for 15 seasons. WHAT’S NEXT The Owls will host Miami on Tuesday, March 18, for the second time this season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.AAC play begins next weekend when Rice visits Boca Raton.
