4/21/2025 | Baseball BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic sophomore Trey Beard has been named American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career, the league announced on Monday. Junior outfielder Marshall Lipsey was named a weekly honorable mention. Beard has been a weekly honorable mention on four occasions this season. The Owls’ ace earned top honors after another dominant outing in Thursday’s 9-2 win versus Wichita State. Beard allowed one run on five hits in six innings. He struck out seven to bring his season total to 92, ranked second in Division I. The sophomore improved his W/L record to 7-0.Lipsey finished the week 6-for-14 at the plate with a home run, two doubles, and a triple. He also scored at least one run in all four games. The native of Longview, Texas, has reached base safely in 37 consecutive games.
