PENSACOLA, Fla. – The opening day of the most important fall tournament of the season saw Lucca Baptista win three matches to lead the way for Lynn University men’s tennis.

DOUBLES DRAW:
- Baptista and his doubles partner Gabriel Hocevar beat Louis Deck and Ulf Grosseloh of Spring Hill College, 8-1.
- It wasn’t as easy sailing for the duo of Robin Calais and Nicholas Cabrera who lost to Emile Le Terrier and Trey Seymour from Delta State, 8-0.
SINGLES DRAW:
- Cabrera lost his singles match to Francois Letallec of Mississippi College, 6-3, 6-3.
- Calais beat Jesus Garcia Gil from Lee College, 6-4, 1-6, 10-6. However, he would go on to drop his second match to Yohan Nguyen of Valdosta State, 6-1 and retired.
- Hocevar couldn’t carry over the good vibes from the doubles match and lost to Leo De Sousa of Delta State, 6-2, 6-3.
- Baptista kept it rolling all afternoon. He took care of Fergus O’Rourke of Spring Hill College, 6-3, 6-1 and went on to beat Eric Nordblom of Florida Southern 6-4, 6-3.
