IRVING, Texas – One of the most historic venues in sports will add a new distinction to its legacy next week as Michie Stadium in West Point, New York, plays host to the 2024 American Athletic Conference Football Championship Game.
The American Football Championship Game will be held Friday, Dec. 6, as Army (10-1) hosts Tulane (9-3) at 8 p.,m. ET/7 p.m. CT at Michie Stadium. The game will be televised live on ABC for the 10th consecutive season.
Coverage will begin on ESPN+ with The American Football Championship Pregame Show at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT.
Army clinched home-field advantage for the championship game by virtue of its 29-24 win against UTSA Saturday, capping an 8-0 season in conference games in its first year in The American. Tulane finished a game behind the Black Knights at 7-1 in conference play.
Michie Stadium, which was named by Sports Illustrated as the No. 3-rated sports venue in the world, will host a conference championship game for the first time.
Army and Tulane have met on the gridiron 23 times since the series began in 1953. Tulane holds a 13-9-1 series lead and has won the last four meetings, most recently a 38-12 decision in New Orleans in 2020.
Tickets for the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championship Game are available to the public through the Army West Point ticket office.
